Lucky I wasn’t going straight ahead

Ambling downhill, and traffic lights change to green. I signal clearly I’m turning left. Car coming in the opposite direction ignores my signal and cuts right in front of me, nearly taking me out. Total idiot.
If I was travelling straight ahead he would have collided with me.
